One of my best friends, Georgia, showed me something very interesting today. The picture you see is of barbies of different body types, races, and heights. We think it’s important young girls don’t see barbie as just your stereotypical beauty standards. When she showed me the picture, I couldn’t help but smile. It’s OK to have curves, it’s OK to be skinny. It’s OK to be tall, it’s OK to be short. It’s OK to be dark, it’s OK to be lighter. That’s what we should be teaching young girls. You don’t need to be barbie, you need to be you.
