Welcome, Summer

Summer is finally here, and that means that it’s finally time for our grade 12 graduates to say goodbye to high school, and hello to new opportunities. It also means that if you live in a place like Canada (like me) you’re finally getting some heat rather than a rainy spring.

I like to think summer is a good break for students and teachers, and a time to have fun. I think it’s a time for opportunities, like traveling. It’s definitely my favorite season.

As a graduate, your probably beginning to think about the future. At the moment, that may be university or learning in your community. Both options are fine, it just depends on who you are, and what you want to do. Don’t hold yourself back, especially if you have the opportunity to study abroad and YOU want to do it. Don’t let people hold you back, so you can grow as a person and a learner. It’s always important to try new things, and sometimes just do things for you.

Hopefully everyone has a nice warm summer, and here’s a little poem about all of the above:

You bloom like all the flowers around you.

You search all through the night for that one sight.

You smile brighter than the moon on a cloudless night.

You beam like the sun and you hum alongside the birds in the trees.

Summer is here and it is time to relax.

It’s time to think of the year to come and to hold hands with a loved one.

Summer is here and opportunities are near.

Until next time, my friends.
